Palace of Flamekeep

A soaring, spired castle of thick stone clad in white marble, Flamekeep rises above the city and draws the eye of all who pass nearby. The merlons of its crenelated battlements are carved in the likeness of dragon’s heads. Inside, the palace features lofty ceilings, gleaming marble floors, hanging plants, tapaestries, and white relief-carved walls of epic battles between knights and various monsters. The ever vigilant Golden Knights stand guard within Flamekeep and on the grounds at all times.
The palace features four tall towers. The north and west towers house the armories and the quarters of the Golden Knights, and the Lord Marshal. The southern tower was formerly the personal residence of King Geren, but now houses the Minister of Flame, Cardinal Loriston. The eastern tower houses the Chambers of the Assembly on its lower floors and residences for nobles and other officials in its upper stories.
Visitors enter Flamekeep through the western gate and ascend the Platinum Stair to the hall of Greeting, where the steward and his staff greet them and guide them on. A huge stone door leads into the majestic Great Hall. Audience chambers, a banquet hall, and a chapel surround the Great Hall. Two grand arches at its eastern end lead to the Platinum Throne, where Queen Regent Tatianna holds Tribunal. Behind the Platinum Throne is the newest part of the palace, a low wing that houses Tatianna, Oberron, their heralds, and staff.
Beneath the ground floor rooms of the palace are six underground levels. The upper four contain larders, a superb wine celler, prisons, another armory, and a library. The fifth level holds a vast collection of items that may be useful during times of siege, from miles of rope to ladders to battering rams and carts. The sixth level is the Crypt of the Kings, where all four generations of the ruling family are entombed. Entrance to any of these areas is only possible for those carrying special sanctions personally prepared by Tatianna or the Minister of Flame.
Rumors persist of even lower levels storing fabulous treasures below the palace.
